Ideas for Small Spaces

There are probably lots of small areas in your home tucked in around stairs, windows or alcoves. Wouldn’t it be great to make the most of those areas? Here’s a few ideas to transform those tricky areas.

Create a reading nook.

Get lost in your favorite book with a small chair and narrow side table. A floor lamp or wall mounted sconce can offer task lighting. Be sure to add pillows and a cozy blanket. Several floor pillows can also offer a comfortable respite if there is no room for a chair.

Put together a small work space.

Small secretaries with a fold out desk or a small table that doubles as an accent piece can make a functional desk for laptop work or writing letters. Working from home can be a lot easier when you have a restful space to do it in.

Compact indoor nursery.

Hanging planters, pots of different sizes, and baskets can house plants that don’t need a lot of light. Lucky Bamboo, Spider Plants, Golden Pothos, Snake Plant, Staghorn Fern, English Ivy, Peace Lily, and Maidenhair Fern are all terrific options for an indoor garden.
